Real Food!

Today Savannah got her first taste of real food. We mixed some single grain rice cereal with breast milk and she really seemed to enjoy it! We wanted to share this with you so here are a few videos:

Here is Savannah in her high chair getting ready to enjoy her first meal... Full of smiles and excitement!

Here is her reaction to her first taste of real food... (watch the eyebrows!)

Savannah was really having fun with the new experiences but we think she might have been trying to tell us a little something about the taste here... As you can hear, we thought it was pretty funny!

Finally, Savannah seemed to be enjoying it so much that she ended up trying to take the spoon away and feed herself. Maybe mommy just wasnt going fast enough?

Look What Mommy Got!!!!

My mommy is so happy! Daddy surprised her with the best Christmas present ever! A new car...a volvo xc90. Mommy can put me in my car seat so much easier now that she has this new car. Mommy and me are riding in style...all the babies at Kindercare will want a ride with my mommy! Merry Christmas!

Daddy got a bit of a surprise himself. Mommy surprised him with a new TV. It is a new 42 inch plasma and should show my Baby Einstein Videos really well!

Christmas Cheer!

This is not the "official" Christmas Blog, but a little something to keep everyone posted. Savannah has had a wonderful Christmas so far. She celebrated with Aunt Robin, Uncle Waylon, and Cousin Noah on Saturday. On Sunday, we had Christmas with the extended family and of course everyone marveled over how much Savannah has grown. She talks and tells stories to all that will listen...we will post a video of this soon. Here a few pictures from the last week. Merry Christmas to you all!

Busy Baby

Savannah has been extremely busy the past few weeks. She has continued with daycare and has gotten her first cold :(. Savannah changes with every passing day. She smiles, laughs, and talks...she is so much fun! We recently borrowed a "jumper" from cousin Noah. She loves to bounce and smiles non stop. Sean video taped this when he was babysitting one day and we will soon have it posted to the blog (stay tuned:). This weekend Aunt Robin, Uncle Waylon and myself ran a 5K Jingle Bell Run. Sean, Savannah, and Nana Parham came out to support us in our endeavor. We had the best time (not really time as in running, but as in having fun:)! We have included pictures...enjoy!

Savannah is so excited at the beginning of the race.

The Family after the 5K. Noah and Savannah were so proud!

Savannah is tuckered out after watching the race! She has her Peter Rabbit blankie and is as happy as can be!

Yay Mommy and Aunt Robin! Finished in 36:05!

Changes and Growing

Savannah has experienced a lot of change in the last 2 weeks. She started daycare at Kindercare (see previous entry from Sean) and is doing very well. Savannah is beginning to enjoy "tummy time" and her bouncy seat. She smiles at us all the time! We can't imagine loving anyone as much as we do our Savannah! The following are a few pictures from the last few weeks documenting her many changes and her growth. We just had her 3 month portraits done, so look for those in the near future:)!

Savannah and her teacher, Miss Praddy, at Kindercare. This was taken pretty early in the morning so Savannah was a little groggy.

Savannah loves "Peter". She will hold him on her way to daycare and chew on his ears.

Savannah smiling in her bouncy seat. She likes to sit and watch mommy make dinner.

Savannah smiling during "Tummy Time". She is getting so strong and will soon be sitting up and rolling over.

This one is just for fun...daddy/daughter profile. Savannah is a "mini me" of Sean.

Big Week!

This week has been a very busy one for the Sharpe family! Mommy has started back to work preparing for the start of classes next week which meens that Savannah has started daycare. Mom and Savannah have been real troopers through it all. Savannah seems to be doing OK in the new environment but is always happy to see her mommy at the end of the day. Mommy has had a hard time concentrating on everything she has to do but that understandable considering the anxiety she has been feeling after being separated from her baby. The teachers at the daycare were kind enough to email us this picture on her first day just to reassure us that she was alright. She sure is ADORABLE!!! This is one daddy that is unbelievably proud of his wonderful wife and beautiful daughter!

Happy Halloween

We had a very busy Halloween weekend. On Friday night, Sean carried on the Halloween tradition of having the neighbors over to enjoy a warm fire and beverages while passing out candy to the trick or treaters. Savannah slept through most of the fun, but we still managed to bring her out dressed in her monkey costume. I had to join my JR Beta club at a walk for juvenile diabetes on Saturday morning, so Savannah and Sean joined me. Savannah wore her East Cary Middle School onesie to the event:). On Sunday, we went to Nana and Grandpa Parham's house for dinner. Cousin Noah brought his monkey costume and we got a few snapshots of the two them before they let us know that they were done with all the picture taking:).

Savannah in her ECMS onesie. She was so much fun at the walk. It is really neat how she is looking around and is so much more aware of her surroundings now.
Our crazy neighbors, Lars and Karen, Elmer Fudd and a hippie. I had more pictures of everyone at the gathering, but my stupid camera messed up on me.
Sean dressed up as the "North Hills Prowler". I guess this is only funny for us North Hills residents. We have had some recent break ins around our area and have reenacted our community watch.

A SHARPE WEEKEND

We had a very SHARPE weekend. Savannah's Grandma Sharpe came all the way from El Paso, Texas to meet Savannah for the first time and her Aunt Sherrin, Cousin Nicole, and Cousin Ashley drove down from Maryland to meet her, as well. It was great to see so many Sharpe's together at one time and for Savannah to meet family on the Sharpe side:)! Grandma Sharpe came in on Thursday evening and got down to business with being a Grandma! Savannah loved being held and she loved Grandma's Sharpe's talking/singing to her. Grandma and Daddy babysat on Thursday evening and I went to meet Aunt Robin for a mom's night out at the melting pot. On Friday, Grandma Sharpe went to the state archives to do some genealogy research and we took Savannah to visit the Kindercare that she will be attending when I go back to work in November :(. Saturday was a very busy day for Savannah. The entire Sharpe family and the Parham's met up at the Farmer's Market for breakfast. Savannah came ready for the occasion in her pumpkin outfit. We had planned to visit a pumpkin patch after breakfast, but the rain nixed that idea. Cousin Noah and Savannah are both monkeys for Halloween and we were going to take some pictures of the two monkeys at the pumpkin patch...we'll try again later. At breakfast, Uncle Waylon got to meet and shake hands with Sidney Lowe (NC State's basketball coach). That was very exciting for him and of course Sean wanted to ask how they will do against UNC this year...but he didn't:)! Check out Noah's blog for pictures of Waylon and Sidney. After breakfast, we visited the farmer's market and picked up some fresh apples and pumpkins. Aunt Sherrin, Nicole and Ashley came back to the house and we all enjoyed visiting with each other. Unfortunately, they had to hit the road back to MD and couldn't stay for dinner. We had a great dinner to send Grandma Sharpe off in style on Sat. night. Savannah was pooped to say the least.

Savannah was worn out after her visit to the farmer's market.

Savannah's 1st Visit to Charlotte

The Sharpe family took a trip to Charlotte on Sunday. I got Sean Panthers tickets for his birthday, so we left bright and early on Sunday morning (not an easy task w/a 10 week old). This also gave Savannah the chance to meet a few of my old college sorority sisters and to meet the great people Sean works with (his home office is based in Charlotte). Aunt Ericka (with a little help from Aunt Julie) was gracious enough to babysit while Sean and I went to the game. Savannah also got to meet Ericka's two children Emma Catherine and Jack and Julie's two children Emma Martin and Ian. This was the longest we have ever left Savannah (I only called twice and texted once:). After the game, we met up with Aunt Yetta and her daughter Tori to have dinner. On Monday morning, we went with Sean to his Charlotte office and met several of his coworkers. It was great to visit with everyone and to see old friends again. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Growing, Growing, Growing

Savannah is growing by leaps and bounds everyday. Her head is very strong and we are convinced she will be sitting up very soon. She has started to enjoy sitting in her BUMBO (thanks for this toy...Aunt Cassie). Here are some pictures of Savannah working on her sitting skills.
