Sharpe Family Reunion

The Sharpe's spent a week at Myrtle Beach. Savannah had an opportunity to meet all of her daddy's family. After 14 years, for the first time, all of the Sharpe's got together for a reunion at Myrtle Beach, SC.

Savannah on the beach. She loved walking on the beach in the morning (since she likes to get up earlier than everyone else).

Savannah has really mastered the art of picking up and eating food. She LOVES to eat puffs!

We took a trip to Broadway on the Beach. Savannah's cousins Kristina and Joseph were stopped by a bear while shopping.

Cousin Ashley met up with the same bear.

We spent one of our nights learning how to "shag". The shag is a dance that is famous at the beach in the Carolina's. Katie and Grandpa Sharpe arranged for a shag instructor to come to the house and show us some moves!

Savannah got in on the action of learning how to shag.

Shagging really isn't as easy as it looks!

Goofing around with her cousins. Joseph had the "touch" with Savannah. She really loved playing with him.

Goofing around with her cousins: Joseph, Brian, and Kristina.

Savannah and Daddy on the beach.

Savannah didn't really like the water and the sand at the beach over Memorial Day weekend, however this trip was a different story.

A family shot on the beach.

The Grand kids (Kristina, Savannah, Ashley, Brian, & Joseph). This isn't all of them by any means...Savannah is #12!
Grandpa Sharpe with the grand kids.

We visited the aquarium during our trip. It was a good break from being in the sun since it was very HOT the entire time we were at Myrtle Beach. This is a shot of Savannah in a clam:).

Savannah was mesmerized with some of the fish.

Poor Aunt Shelley and her Jelly Fish Friend. We don't think this is the one that stung her, b/c she would have had to be very far out for him to sting her.

Savannah is a bubble at the aquarium. It was suppose to represent an egg.

Beach Trip

Savannah experienced the beach for the first time this past weekend. We took a 4-day weekend trip to Ocean Isle with Nana, Grandpa, Uncle Waylon, Aunt Robin and Noah. We really had a great time. It is so neat to see Savannah and Noah interacting with eachother. Of course, next years beach trip will be even more fun, since Savannah will have a new little girl cousin:) in October!!! Aunt Robin is expecting #2 in October and Savannah is so thrilled to leave her legacy of pink things to her younger cousin! :)
Here are a few snapshots from the weekend. Enjoy!
Savannah basking in the sun on Thursday. She really isn't so sure about the sand and waves.

Friday...She is warming up to the sand. She was so cute. She would lift her feet up when you tried to stand her in the sand or ocean water. If she couldn't lift both feet, she would lift one like a little flamingo!

I just love this shot. She started to play in the sand a little bit by this point.

Here we go...she's into it now!! Our only problem was that she wanted to EAT the shells!

We had a pool at the house we rented...so nice! Savannah LOVES the pool. That is a good thing since we have joined our neighborhood pool.

On Saturday, we went out on Daddy's boat. Sean is keeping his boat in Little River for the summer. We are going back down to Myrtle Beach this month for a family reunion with Sean's dad, brothers and sisters. Savannah is excited to meet all of her Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Our last day at the beach. Me and my sweet angel!

Savannah and Daddy. She refused to keep her hat on:)!

So sweet. She was actually starting to act VERY tired Sunday. She slept the whole way back to Raleigh and wanted to keep sleeping once we got home. She seemed to be feeling bad. I was thinking that maybe she was teething (I don't usually attribute a baby being fussy to the teething thing, but I could see two coming in), but I ended up having to take her to the doctor on Tuesday. She wasn't eating a lot and refusing her solids. The doctor said she had a virus. He said she should feel better by her 4th day (which is today), so I hope I see some improvements tonight.

Happy Mother's Day

We celebrated my first Mother's Day yesterday. I had a wonderful day spending time with Savannah and the extended family. Savannah is growing like a weed (19 lbs at her 9 month check-up last week) and really becoming a little independent baby! Sean got me a great camera for Mother's Day. I spent the weekend trying it out and taking tons of pictures. Here are few shots I got this weekend.

Savannah at Nana's house. She LOVES to be pushed around in the little car. Check out the little foot propped up..."just chillin"!

Savannah outside in the flower bed. She loves to explore her new surroundings and of course wants to touch everything!

My very first Mother's Day gift. Savannah made me this T-Shirt at Kindercare. It came with a little card with her picture and hanbd prints.

I just love this picture! This is typical Savannah...just taking it all in!

First Steps, Playdates, & More...

Our black lab, Kaleb, was laid to rest on April 27th. We planted a Dogwood tree in honor of Kaleb as we miss him immensely. I'm glad that Savannah got to know Kaleb even if it was for a short period of time.

I have been "tracked out" the last two weeks. I kept Savannah home with me last week and we had the best time! Savannah's friend, Wilson, came over for a play date. As you can see from the pictures below, they had a great time! Wilson is the son of our neighbors, Will & Alston. Wilson was born 3 weeks to the day before Savannah last summer:).

On April 25th, Savannah took her first steps behind her walker. We captured video of the event and will post it soon. She was quite proud of herself as she jabbered & smiled the entire time she was walking!

Easter Pics are here!

The day before Easter we went out to a farm to have some professional pictures done of the family and some of Savannah. Here are some of the best:

We love this set of Savannah in her little Easter Dress!
This is a nice set of Savannah and Kaleb hanging out by one of the corral fences. We are so proud of our little Savannah!. She is growing and changing every day! She is getting so mobile and constantly reaching to test her own limits. She is pulling up on everthing and getting pretty good at walking along the couch or other things that she can hold on to. We are expecting her to let go and take that first step any day! It is absolutely impossible to explain the joy and happiness that she has brought into our home!

Happy Easter!

The Sharpe's spent Easter afternoon at Uncle Waylon and Aunt Robin's house. Savannah and Noah hunted for Easter eggs and enjoyed the warm afternoon.

Savannah was very interested in the grass:).

So...we wanted to take our own Easter portrait with the Savannah and Noah. Noah did a great job holding Savannah. We are off to a great start!
Ha! It didn't last long! Nana Parham bought them matching outfits. Aren't they just adorable?

8 Months of Joy!

Savannah hasn't felt her best the past week (of course you wouldn't know it from the picture below). She still has an ear infection and we are on the 3rd round of anitbiotics. We are hoping that this new prescription will work. We feel so sorry for out little bit! She isn't sleeping well and tires herself out quickly.

Savannah turned 8 months today. She is so busy and into everything! Sean and I suspect that she will be walking within the next month.

Savannah's new game "peek a boo". She tried to sneak around the chair and the end table.

Playing, playing, playing...
